Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing

Vulnerability Assessment is performed on IT systems to assess potential susceptibilities to network. These are automated tests, and they are performed to only identify susceptibilities, and not exploit them. Once susceptibilities are identified, corrective measures are performed. 

Penetrating Testing is performed to explore whether the systems could be accessed through the security systems. These are automated and both tests require authorization to perform. Potentially impacted stakeholders will have to be adequately informed and unanticipated impacts should be mitigated with.
